OXFORD youngsters are hoping to help shine a light on Christmas.
They were making lanterns at the weekend for this year’s Christmas Light Night procession, which takes place at the T Building at BMW Plant Oxford in Cowley.
Lead artist Emily Cooling, 35, said: “The children all had a really great time. We had a good turnout.
“The large lantern was of the five gold rings but for the smaller ones they were able to come up with their own designs.”
Light Night, which is being held on Friday, December 2, has become an annual tradition and attracts about 20,000 people. As well as featuring the switch-on of the city’s Christmas lights, its centrepiece is the lantern procession which is led by schoolchildren. This year’s Christmas Light Night will be held in St Giles for the first time.
