YOUNGSTERS in Eynsham have been given a taste of university life and finance by Oxford Brookes University students.
The students visited Bartholomew School, in Witney Road, on Monday in the BrookesBus and took questions from about 100 sixth-formers.
They taught them about university life and talked about tuition fees, which are set to increase to up to £9,000 next year.
Ivor Edwards, 16, from Eynsham, said: “I found it useful because it gave us an insight about what to expect when we go to university.
“We got to hear from students, rather than teachers and lecturers, so we got to learn about university from first-hand experience.”
Assistant headteacher Adam Williams, who helped organise the event, said: “There is a worry about how much money it is going to cost to go to university, but I think there was some reassurance today.”
The event tied in with National Student Finance Day on Monday.
