A NEW pictorial record of the Cotswold Line Rail route between Oxford and Worcester has just been published.
The book features more than 200 photographs from three periods in the route’s history – before track was singled in 1971; the single-track period from 1971 to this year; and work to reinstate double track over the past two years, including the section between Charlbury and Ascott-under-Wychwood.
Many of the pictures were taken from the same viewpoints, to show ‘then and now’ scenes.
The book has been written by Network Rail manager Tim Maddocks and railway author and photographer John Stretton.
The Cotswold Line Past and Present: Worcester to Oxford is published by Nostalgia and costs £19.99 from book shops, on 01536 330588 or atnostalgiacollection.com
