THE report that there were more than 1,000 pupil suspensions in our area for their bad behaviour does not surprise me. If a teacher touches an unruly pupil he/she is arrested and charged with assault.
When I was at school I was caned more than once. It didn’t do me any harm, but taught me to respect the teachers. I think that we should bring back the cane.
