FIVE Oxfordshire curry houses have beaten hot competition from 2,700 other restaurants to win a place in the final 100 of the British Curry Awards.
Finalists include Aziz in Cowley Road, Oxford, Dil Raj in Ock Street, Abingdon, Elaichi in Millbrook Square, Grove, Jaflong in Market Square, Bicester, and Vine and Spice in Long Wittenham.
Angor Miah, owner of Dil Raj, said: “We are very excited. Since we heard the news everyone has been overwhelmed.”
The nine regional winners and will be announced in London on Monday, November 28.
