THIS is the man police want to speak to after an 80-year-old woman was conned by a burglar who tricked his way into her home and snatched her purse.
The crook called at the home of an 80-year-old woman in Mill Street, Stanton St John, at about 3.30pm on Saturday.
After the victim let him in he asked for directions and a glass of water from the kitchen.
When the man left the pensioner realised that her purse containing cards and a small amount of cash had disappeared.
He is described as being in his mid-20s, 5ft 11in to 6ft tall, with a pale, gaunt face and spikey hair.
Police inspector Ian Money said: “Preying on the elderly or vulnerable is despicable and something we will not tolerate.”
He urged people to be on their guard against bogus callers and always check for ID, adding: “If there is any doubt, do not let them into your house.”
