Sir – I’m sure that everyone involved with the production of Downton Abbey will be dismayed to learn that, despite not having watched a second of it, Christopher Gray remains resistant to its “alleged appeal”.
Equally, huge numbers of viewers will be mortified to learn that its army officers should not have worn their Sam Browne belts indoors. Whatever next?
