A 16-year-old is being kept on remand after breaching his Antisocial behaviour order by attacking a man.

Sandeep Kumar was given an Asbo in December 2009 after causing problems in East Oxford and this week was back in Oxford Youth Court accused of breaching the order.

Magistrates were told how he attacked Lewis Heaver in Oxford Road, Cowley, on June 1.

He denied breaching his Asbo by using violence against Mr Heaver but magistrates found him guilty. He was remanded in custody to be sentenced on November 16.

During Wednesday’s hearing it emerged that Kumar, of Saunders Road in Cowley, had breached his Asbo half a dozen times.

Kumar was given his Asbo after being arrested 14 times after complaints of violence and theft.

Witnesses told magistrates at his original Asbo hearing that he threatened to stab a child, pulled out a hammer and claimed he would break a girl’s legs.

The 2009 Asbo, which runs until December 2012, banned him from being outside at night between 7pm and 7am unsupervised, and from being in half of Saunders Road or neighbouring Weymann Terrace.

It also banned him from being abusive and threatening.
