WHEN the roof fell in on their Broadway charity shop in Didcot, volunteers and staff at the Oxfordshire Animal Sanctuary knew it was time to move out.

After dozens of car trips with boxes, bags and bundles of clothes piled high, an army of animal lovers packed up their stock to move just a few minutes up the road to a new temporary home.

Coordinator Pam Kucel said: “I thought I was going to have to find a storage company but by a stroke of luck a self storage company I tried were full themselves, but suggested one of their estate agent clients.

“It was just a case of packing everything into my Citreon C3 and a small van.”

Within days the charity had the shop open for business in Hagbourne Road in Didcot after ferrying rails of clothes down the road.

The shop is open 10am–4pm Monday to Friday and 10am–2pm on Saturday .
