A CHOLSEY man who is dying from a rare degenerative disease has organised yet another fundraising venture.

Richard Harrison, who lives in Waterloo Close, is going to be pushed from Didcot Railway Station to Cholsey Station to raise money for those who share his condition.

He is now hoping as many people as possible will either join him on the five-mile trek or sponsor him.

Mr Harrison, 66, suffers from multiple system atrophy which causes the nerves in his brain to waste away.

Since being diagnosed three years ago he has begun losing the use of his arms and legs.

He said: “The number of people taking part is growing by the hour. It is brilliant that people have already pledged their time for me.

“This sort of thing keeps me alive.”

Already this year Mr Harrison has managed to raise £4,000 for the MSA Trust, which gives support to the five in every 100,000 people who suffer from the condition.

Anyone wanting to take part in Mr Harrison’s walk on Sunday, November 27 at 10am should call him on 01491 659074 between 9am and 12pm and between 7pm and 10pm.
