Wheatley Boys and Hinksey Park U14 both gave an outstanding performance in the 1st round of the league cup on Sunday 2nd October.

Wheatley took an early lead with two outstanding goals from Willem Alexander only for Hinksey to equalize and then take the lead with two goals a piece from Jake Millicheap and Jamie Furlong to bring the game to 4-2 to Hinksey until late in the second half. However, two goals from Wheatley’s Jem Godden bought the score to 4-4 at the final whistle.

Both teams played well in the hot October sun for a further 20 minutes extra time although no further goals were scored and so a nail biting penalty shootout followed which Hinksey went on to win 5-4.
