A man who was left with a fractured skull after an attack outside St Helen’s Church was last night in a stable condition.
The 53-year-old man was one of two set upon in West St Helen’s Street at about 11.15pm on Saturday by three men and three women.
No one has been arrested.
Det Sgt Darren Cartwright, investigating the assault, said: “I urge anyone in the area last night to contact me as soon as possible.”
The other man was 34 and was not injured.
