Following their opening day draw with Hinksey Park, Woodcote were desperate to register their first win in the Oxford Mail Boys league under 14's C division.

The hosts got off to a perfect start when Ben Tams fired them in front after just 3 minutes following some neat build up play from Harry Voice and Matt Wise.

Eithan Ball then doubled the Woodcote advantage when he managed to dis-possess the Marston defender before cooly slotting the ball past the keeper on 25 minutes.

Woodcote could have been out of sight by half time as Voice, Luke Williams and Sean Donohue all had chances to increase their lead. 2-0 at half time.

Marston came out strongly for the second half and Woodcote keeper Ricardo Soler De Los Rios had to be at his best on several occasions to stop them from pulling a goal back.

He was finally beaten on 50 minutes when Thomas Eyles shot deflected off Woodcote full back Luke Hawkins and flew into the net. Ten minutes later, Eyles made it 2-2 when he got the better of the Woodcote defence and fired home from close range. Both teams had chances to win the game late on but it was Marston who snatched the winner in stoppage time. Savsa Trkulja cutting in from the right wing before firing a low drive past Soler De Los Rios from 18 yards.

Woodcote's man of the match was left back Gabriel Affonso who had an outstanding game.
