Tomorrow the starting pistol will fire on the reinstated Oxford Half Marathon.
Almost 2,000 runners will pound the city streets in an event that could blossom into a bigger race in the next few years.
Reading’s 13-mile run has proven to be a roaring success and there is no reason why this city cannot make the event work.
Best of luck to everyone running and make sure you cheer on the hardy competitors.
