Burglars failed in their attempts to get into a house in Lyford Close, Drayton, by splitting the door frames and shattering windows in a conservatory.
Dc David Evans, who is investigating the incident which took place between 1.30pm and 6.30pm on Sunday, said: “The damage on the property is quite severe. We are not sure whether the offenders were disturbed or just left out of frustration.
“A neighbour reported hearing loud banging noises at the house at about 2pm, so I am keen to speak to anyone who heard or saw anything suspicious.”
