Cholsey's first League game of the season, and for a few of the team their first experience of league football.

Cholsey played with grit and determination for the entire 60 mins. The score line says 6-0 but in reality should have read 6-2 with two goals for Cholsey ruled off side, both decisions were very debatable but thats football.

Oxford Blackbirds are a very strong team with great movement across the whole field, and from what I saw are probably favourites for the League.

Cholsey are a new team and this was only their second game playing together and did the club proud.

Before the game I told them that the result was not important for me and that all I wanted to see was effort and determination. They didnt dissapoint and I couldn't fault them in the slightest.

A great performance from Liam Thomlinson, William Hartley, Jack Stanley and Oliver Poole in defence saw the Oxford strikers frustrated on many occasions, and the times they did get through the safe hands of Jack Silkstone frustrated them again.

Some great play from Jordan Gallagher, George Belcher and George Saynor saw Cholsey threaten the Oxford goal on more than one occasion with Ale Cantarelli putting it in the back of the net twice only for the goals to be ruled offside. As the new manager I have to say that I have some great players to work with this season and the results will come.

Well done to Oxford Blackbirds, another great result for their League campaign. But as the Cholsey manager I have to say what a great game to watch and I am very encouraged by my teams determination and desire to play the game.

Taking nothing away from Oxford as the better team won, what Cholsey showed was heart and the will to battle right to the end, they will cause a few problems for a lot of teams this season.
