A 14-year-old boy was in hospital with facial injuries after being shot in the face by a BB gun in Tarragon Drive, Greater Leys, Oxford.
The incident happened about 9.50pm on Friday night and a 33-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of GBH and bailed until October 21.
A police spokesman said the injuries were serious but not life-threatening and it is believed the boy was hit in the face, near to his eyes.
