CUSTOMERS and staff tackled a machete-wielding robber at a Oxford shop.
A man armed with a machete went into the Co-op in Rose Hill at about 8.40pm on Wednesday and threatened staff.
Police said he then attacked a male member of staff, who suffered minor cuts, and demanded he lead him into the back office of the shop.
But as they were walking to the back of the store, the man was tackled by another member of staff and a male customer. They then called police.
Dc Ben Yeats urged anyone with information to call him on 08458 505505.
Alternatively anyone with information can contact Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
A 34-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of robbery. He remained in custody last night.
