I HAVE every sympathy for the residents of Begbroke, Yarnton and the surrounding areas.
I can only assume the offensive pong in these localities generates from Agrivert’s vacuum compost facility, which we were given to understand would not upset the local community. The pong is much worse than ours, which emanates from Sandford Sewage Works occasionally when the pumping station can no longer cope with the amount of waste coming on to the site.
It would not surprise me to learn the people in authority who were in favour of Agrivert’s operation around Yarnton and Begbroke do not live in the locality.
A ‘holding pool’ on that site is a step too far. The company should have more respect for its neighbours.
