Comedian David Walliams tucked into a bowl of porridge oats this morning before getting back into the murky River Thames at Wallingford at 7am.

Mr Walliams started out in Lechlade, Gloucestershire, on Monday, on his 140-mile journey along the River Thames to raise funds for Sport Relief. He is due to complete the marathon swim on Monday.

The Little Britain star arrived for a stop at the Beetle and Wedge pub near Wallingford at about 9.30am and was due to stop again at Goring Lock at about 11am.

He will then leave Oxfordshire, and the following scheduled stop is Reading Bridge.

The swimmer’s spokesman Anna Capleton said: “David is still having a bit of trouble with his tummy this morning but he is feeling better than he was yesterday.

“He enjoyed his breakfast of porridge and fruit this morning and really appreciates the support from people in Oxfordshire, which has helped to spur him on.

“His last scheduled stop today is Caversham Lock near Reading.”
