A COLLECTIVE of artists and musicians hope to “build on the cultural wealth of Oxford” with a weird and wonderful show.
Bands and DJs will perform among artwork and sculptures, including a giant shrine and a multi-sided dome, at Modern Art Oxford in Pembroke Street.
The 10 bands and 10 artists will perform from 3pm-2am on Saturday and the event will be the largest show they have ever done.
One of the organisers, Andrew Mears, said: “The idea is to put bands in an environment that is more aesthetically pleasing than a venue that’s painted black and has not been cleaned for two years.
“I come from a music background and I am sick of the same experience every single time you go to a show. This will be a cure for that complacency.”
He added: “I would like people to walk away from the place and think that we live in a great town with people that are doing something quite positive and constructive, and perhaps that they should do something themselves to carry on building on the cultural wealth of Oxford.”
