THERE was nothing sinister about this wicker man.
Tom Lydford-Brace, eight, pictured right with Dan Barton, celebrated his winning wicker man design at the Wychwood Forest Festival which took place on Southdown Farm in Witney.
Tom submitted his design for a 38ft wicker sculpture to Wicker Man Oxford, a charity sculpture project which this year is raising money for Maggie’s Cancer Care Centre.
He became the lucky winner who had his design brought to life for a tour the county.
His mother, Helen, said: “He was proud to see his design in centre stage.
“He’s having such a fantastic time and he’s such a lucky boy to have become involved with the project and the people.”
Juliet Curry, the publicist for the forest festival, said: “I would say about 4,000 people came.”
