COACH Henry Dean will be the guest of honour at a reunion dinner for old Blues of the Oxford University Boxing Club.

The club appealed in Memory Lane last week for help in tracing Mr Dean, who had left the Waterman’s Arms at Osney without leaving a forwarding address.

Within hours of the Oxford Mail being printed last Monday, he had been located at an address in Botley.

Club member Robert Howard, who made the appeal, tells me: “I received a dozen emails and calls, all confirming Henry’s whereabouts. I have spoken to him and he is now confirmed as guest of honour at our OUABC reunion dinner on October 15.”

Mr Dean followed a successful career as a boxer by becoming one of the county’s best coaches.

He was in charge of the University club from 1988 to 2003, leading them to a succession of victories over Cambridge.
