Police have released more details about the arrest made following the discovery of two bodies in a Thame house this morning.

A 21-year-old man is in custody having been arrested on suspicion of murder after the incident in Ireton Court at about 2.20am today.

He was arrested in Thame Market Place shortly after the incident and is currently in custody in Abingdon Police Station.

The two women, who died at the scene, have not been formally identified yet, but one is believed to be in her 50s and another in her 20s.

A third woman is in hospital being treated for injuries received in the incident.

Senior Investigating Officer Det Ch Insp Joe Kidman said: “We are in the early stages of our investigation; we have arrested a man on suspicion of murder.

“At this time it appears that all parties are known to each other and we are not seeking anyone else in connection with this case.

“We are working hard to establish the full circumstances of this incident and what led to the tragic deaths of these two women.”
