Charity fundraisers are lining up a vintage extravaganza at a beautiful venue just outside Witney on September 11.

The award-winning converted barns of Caswell House, on the road between Curbridge and Brize Norton, are the venue for the quintessentially English afternoon organised by the Witney Action Group of the Abingdon charity Against Breast Cancer.

Visitors can browse bunting-draped stalls selling vintage-themed crafts including china, old-fashioned sweets, preserves and funky tea cosies, then enjoy tea and home-made cakes served on vintage china at tables with embroidered tablecloths.

The Paul Jefferies jazz trio will provide background music and there will be a vintage fashion show and entertainment from ‘The Andrews Sisters’ and ‘Frank Sinatra’. Alexis Thompson from Dancing Trousers Cookery School at Broughton Poggs will be doing a cupcake icing demonstration, and there will even be some vintage cars to admire.

Organiser Sue Mulliss said: “We are lining up a whole afternoon of vintage-themed shopping, food and entertainment.

“We are hoping for good weather, so that guests can enjoy their tea on Caswell House’s beautiful patio looking out over the gardens, but there is plenty of room indoors if not. We hope everyone will come along, have a great time, and support a brilliant cause.”

Tickets are are £5, or £3 for concessions, and are available from The Fleece Hotel, The Old Pill Factory or Renaissance, Witney, or by emailing: witneyinthepink@live.com They are also available on the door.
