TWO men have been arrested after two serious assaults at a nightclub in Abingdon in the early hours of yesterday morning.
Police said a 23-year-old man was punched at about 2am after a row at the bar in Strattons nightclub in Ock Street.
He suffered facial injuries including a possible fractured eye socket which required hospital treatment. He has since been discharged from the John Radcliffe.
In a separate incident, which detectives are not linking, a 30-year-old man was assaulted during an altercation outside the club, also about 2am.
Police believe he was punched and fell to the ground, sustaining a serious head injury. He is still in hospital but is believed to be in a stable condition.
A 23-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of causing grievous bodily harm in connection with the incident inside the club, and a 22-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of causing grievous bodily harm in connection with the incident outside the club.
Both men are still in custody.
