GARDENS near Wheatley have been playing host to a children’s summer orienteering trail.
Throughout August children have been attempting to find their way around Waterperry Gardens with the help of compass directions and plenty of fun clues.
There is also the reward of a summer treat from the teashop.
Robert Jacobs, horticultural manager at the ornamental gardens, said: “It’s a fun thing for the children who are visiting.
“It is a great way to get children outside, and mums and dads can walk around and enjoy the gardens.”
Beatrice Jacobs, 10, said: “I really enjoyed doing the trail. It was challenging but fun.”
Running until August 31, the orienteering trail costs £3 per child, and each child must be accompanied by an adult paying the normal entrance fee.
The gardens are open every day from 10am until 5.30pm.
