HMP Service is going to be possibly inundated with new prisoners and one wonders if the service can cope.

Might I suggest that the British Army Correction Centre at Col-chester might be used to accommodate those on short periods of incarceration?

This will give a short, sharp shock to offenders but might also move them in the right direction.

The fund normally allocated to the prison service would, of course, be paid to Colchester making, I am sure, a welcome contribution to their running costs.
