COMING from Oxford as I do, I often visit relatives. This was why I was able to read Jon Kelly’s letter (Oxford Mail, August 2, about pavement rage.
Does Mr Kelly realise the irony of his statement that cyclists only ride on the pavement when they feel unsafe on the road?
What he is saying is the safety of the cyclist outweighs that of the pedestrian.
Why can cyclists not dismount and walk if they feel unsafe on the road?
Sadly this issue is not confined to Oxford; it is the same here in Weymouth. I suspect that nothing will be done because those with the authority to do something are themselves cyclists.
