TWO men have admitted making off with more than £13,000 as it was being collected from an Oxfordshire bank.

Security officer John Dodd was leaving NatWest in Banbury with the cash when he was attacked.

The incident, at the Bridge Street branch, took place at about 12.30pm on April 13.

In total, £13,421 in cash was stolen. At the time, Det Sgt Matthew Bick from Banbury CID said: “No one was injured in the robbery. However, it was obviously a traumatic incident for those in the area.”

Yesterday at Oxford Crown Court Inam Miah admitted robbery.

Co-defendant Tanveer Shah had already admitted the offence at an earlier hearing.

Miah, 23, of Grantham Road, Birmingham, was remanded in custody to be sentenced on August 22.

Shah, 22, also from Birmingham, was remanded in custody to be sentenced on the same day.
