READING the article on the Town Green bid (August 10), I had to laugh when I read that Oxford city service director Tim Sadler said that a small group intent on protecting the Temple Cowley pools have submitted this town green application.

I would not call 10,000 people a small group. I would say that it is a very large group!

These people act for us. Surely he does not want 10,000 people to attend the town hall meetings.

The councillors of Oxford City Council were voted in to speak for the people in Oxford, but they are not following their voters’ wishes. Not many in either community seem to want this white elephant. It is beyond belief.
