PUPILS at Larkmead School, Abingdon, staged a production that was entertaining and portrayed a serious message.

The Wall was described as a social comment dance drama based on an album by rock group Pink Floyd.

It aimed to show through dance and drama how people built up walls or barriers of prejudice, hate and violence.

The production, which made use of elaborate costumes and special effects, was written, choreographed and directed by the school’s drama teacher, Alan Pepper, in 1980.

According to reports at the time, it caught the imagination of pupils and was well received by audiences.
