AS students from across your region celebrate the achievements at the end of the school year, I am delighted that the children’s charity the Transformation Trust helped young people from Mabel Pritchard Upper School and the Oxford Academy mark the start of summer with a bang at Rock Assembly, presented by MORE TH>N.
The free event for more than 14,000 teachers and pupils was held last month with Mabel Pritchard Upper School and the Oxford Academy travelling to London’s O2 arena to enjoy performances by chart-topping rapper Tinchy Stryder, and Britain’s Got Talent winners like Diversity.
The event is part of the work of the Transformation Trust to provide young people with access to extra-curricular activities and experiences they might otherwise not be able to afford.
In the past year alone, almost 30,000 young people in about 700 schools have benefited from projects and events coordinated by the trust. I’m pleased that we were able to share what one teacher described as “the best school trip ever” with pupils from Oxford.
