Fiona McClean grew up in Didcot and completed an art foundation course in Banbury, working as a graphic designer for Oxfam until she married a French man and moved to France.
Her first novel, From Under the Bed (Roman Books, £14.99), opens when Anna admits herself to hospital, suffering from bulimia. Written in the first person, it’s an intense account of a young woman’s struggle to recover from mental illness.
