DETECTIVES were last night trying to trace the getaway car used by a kidnap gang who were still on the run last night.

And yesterday officers revealed that the couple subjected to the terrifying ordeal on Thursday morning knew their attackers.

The 30-year-old woman was snatched off the street in Ambrosden, near Bicester, by a gang of three men who later made off with thousands of pounds in cash after burgling her home and beating up her boyfriend.

Dc Grahame Lea said: “I would like to reassure the community that we believe the offenders were known to the victims in this incident.

“They knew the names of the victims and the address of the victims without having to ask for it.”

Police were called at about 10.20am on Thursday, about 40 minutes after the men claiming to be undercover police officers targeted the woman as she left the Spar shop in Ploughley Road.

She was punched in the face before being driven in her black Range Rover back to her home in East Hawthorn Road. Her boyfriend was also beaten.

From there the gang – who are all described as white and in their 30s – made off in the unknown getaway car.
