I DON’T know if Sushila Dhall (Letters, Oxford Mail, July 28) is aware of this, but the police could thin out a million drivers overnight if they imposed a ban on all vehicles which have no current road tax (and therefore no insurance).

Such vehicles are parked on every street in the country.

The next time Ms Dhall is cycling through Oxford, she might like to make note of the vast number of vehicles which are parked on the streets, and even driven on the streets, with no current road tax disc on display. She might then begin to ask why no action is taken against so many illegal drivers when they are so easy to see.
