A daughter says her elderly mother has discovered a new lease of life since moving to an over-60s development in Wantage.

Alison Hammond said: “My mother lived in the same house for 45 years but after we had seen Pegasus Court she wanted to move straight away, so we put her home on the market that day.

“Of course it was a wrench to move but it was the right thing to do as all the family love having her close by.”

Karen Roake, of Pegasus, said: “We often find that people develop a new lease of life when they move here because they are freed from the responsibilities of maintaining a garden and house.

“There is also a lively social life within the development and the owners quickly start to enjoy the freedom that this lifestyle gives them.

“Equally, families know that their elderly relatives are in a safe, caring environment with 24-hour access to emergency care and this gives them invaluable peace of mind.”

Mrs Hammond, whose mother moved two years ago, added: “The nearest shop was a mile from my mother’s previous home so she was quite isolated and had to rely on people to drive her everywhere but now she can walk to the shops, she is more independent and much fitter - the change has been dramatic.”

Pegasus Court includes one and two-bedroom apartments with prices from £184,950-£359,950.

There is also a communal lounge and gardens, a visitors’ suite and parking.

A show apartment is open Tuesday to Saturday from 10.30am-4pm. For more information, contact Pegasus on 01235 767929 or visit pegasus-homes.co.uk
