AN INTERNATIONAL get-together proved that silence is golden.
Religious people from across the world, including the Archbishop of Cape Town, came to Oxford last week to explore the importance of inner silence.
Coming from 18 different countries, the group of 35, some of whom are pictured left, took time out from their reflection to visit Christ Church Cathedral.
Sister Maureen Goodman, from the Global Retreat Centre at Nuneham Courtenay which organised the event, said: “They all loved it and were very moved.
“The Cathedral is a place of physical and spiritual beauty.”
Lasting from Wednesday to Sunday, the purpose of the multi-faith retreat, was to help find inner silence.
Sister Maureen said: “On one of the days we had five hours silence so they could explore their own inner voice.
“The group was appreciative and they went back restored and refreshed.”
