CHILDREN squealed with delight yesterday as Peppa Pig put in a star appearance at Asda in Cowley.

The TV superstar was helping out with the store’s summer fundraising efforts by visiting the branch at Templars Retail Park.

The chain hopes to raise £150,000 for Tommy’s, the baby charity.

Store manager Mike Doyds said: “It has been great. We probably had between 200 to 300 children today.

“With the children breaking up for the summer holidays, it is good for them to have something to do.”
