SEVEN Range Rovers stolen from a locked compound in Thorpe Mead, in Banbury, have been discovered in Bedfordshire.

The theft happened on Sunday.

But the transporter, stolen and used to make off with the cars, was fitted with a tracking device.

It helped officers, including the police helicopter and the dogs section, track the vehicles to an industrial estate at Slapton near Leighton Buzzard in two hours.

The Range Rovers were in the process of being unloaded from the transporter when officers discovered them. A 41-year-old man from Milton Keynes was arrested on suspicion of theft.

Det Chief Insp Rebecca Mears said: “This operation showed how well we co-ordinated our resources to recover these stolen vehicles.”
