Iffley Road between The Plain and Temple Street was due to close today until September 1 as part a major resurfacing programme.
Oxfordshire County Council began work in May on “essential repairs” to the street from The Plain roundabout and Donnington Bridge Road and is expected to finish in November next year.
Diversions will be signposted, the council said.
