A former city council candidate and eco-activist has been awarded a prestigious Fulbright Award to study in New York.
Sophie Lewis, a Thames Valley People and Planet representative, will research ecological politics in the United States, after winning the scholarship.
Past Fulbright scholars have included economist Milton Friedman, politician Charles Kennedy, poet Sylvia Plath and novelist Ian Rankin.
