SOUTHFIELD Grammar School in Oxford excelled at most sports, particularly cricket.
Pupils would entertain rival teams on a well-prepared pitch behind the school in Glanville Road, East Oxford.
This is a picture of the junior XI from 1946, sent in by one of the players, Howard Manger, who lives in Exeter.
Many former Southfield pupils will remember two of the staff pictured – headmaster Mr D G Perry and John Bilton, who both served the school for many years.
Pictured are, back, from left, Mr D G Perry (headmaster), B Lardner, J Rolfe, S Weston, R Higgins (scorer), B Fletcher, Mr J Bilton, Mr J Hill (masters in charge); middle, R Foxley, L Clifford, Viv Vivyan, V Savage, J Groves; front, A Boella, H Manger, J Lewis, K Wood.
