THE Britannia pub darts team at Kidlington were not having a great deal of luck when this picture was taken in 1962.
The previous season, they were riding high and finished champions of Section III in the Oxford and District Association darts league.
However, they found life tougher after winning promotion to Section I and lost all their early games in the 1962 season.
Skipper Ken Horne is seen trying to turn the tables and secure his team’s first victory.
But good fortune deserted them again – they were trounced 7-1 by the Prince of Wales from Charles Street, Oxford.
