BOSSES at Witney-based STL Communications are celebrating after landing the telephony contract for the Olympic Games.

The telecommunications firm will be responsible for supplying and supporting the telephone systems and associated lines and calls to the Olympic Stadium in London for the 2012 games and paralympic games.

Managing director Brendon Cross is delighted to have won the contract against stiff competition.

He said: “We’re immensely proud and it’s a fantastic testament to the STL team and all their hard work for a small company in Witney to have won such a significant contract.”

Mr Cross added that STL, which currently employs 40 staff, is expected to grow on the back of the contract win and other business, with a further five staff expected to be recruited this year.

He said: “We are enjoying average growth of 20 per cent a year despite the difficult economy.”

Prime Minister and Witney MP David Cameron has also sent his congratulations to STL.

He said: “It is great to hear about businesses from my constituency achieving success for all their hard work.”
