A gallery that has championed Oxfordshire emerging talent celebrates its fifth birthday today.

The 03 Gallery in Oxford Castle opened in 2006 as part of the castle’s revamp and has been giving local artists a place to hang their work ever since.

To celebrate, the gallery is inviting back everyone who has exhibited there for a special show.

Photographer Tim Steward, 36, from Marston, held an exhibition of art dedicated to the Radcliffe Camera at the gallery.

He said: “It’s an amazing and quirky space and when you put work in there it gets a reaction.”

Gallery manager Helen Statham said: “We try to be as relevant and interesting as possible to people who are perhaps new to art or don’t have an art background.”

She is pictured with Jude Wall, left, the first artist to exhibit, and Carl Anglim, of Oxford Fashion Week.

Other featured artists in the birthday exhibition include childrens’ illustrator Korky Paul and internationally-renowned photographer Cambridge Jones.

The exhibition runs until Sunday, August 21.
