SCHOOLCHILDREN from across the county came together to discuss reducing carbon emissions.

The Oxford Sustainable Schools Conference was hosted by Low Carbon Oxford for the third year at Magdalen College School.

As part of the event, pupils from private and state schools in Oxfordshire were asked to fill out a questionnaire on what should be done to lower CO2 use.

Nine-year-old Maya Radford, of Dr South’s Primary School in Islip, said: “It was quite interesting. I really liked the questionnaire.”

Her headteacher Helen Barnard said: “It was a great experience for the pupils, working with older children from other schools to tackle this amazing questionnaire. They were really encouraged to share their opinions and made to feel their opinions were very much valued.”
