Modern Art Oxford is a workshop of movements today to banish all that stress and anxiety.
The movements were created by spiritual teacher G I Gurdjieff and are designed to promote inner stillness.
Shruti Whittingham, 47, pictured left, with Moumina Jeffs, Tura Ryan and Dharma Patel, will be leading the workshop.
She said: “It is about how to access that stillness inside and translating that into daily life.
“They are quite specific movements. Some of the movements can be quite rigid and some are more feminine.
“I first saw a demonstration of this in India and I was so mesmerised. I have been doing it for about 12 years.”
Haegue Yang’s new installation for Modern Art Oxford, Teacher of Dance, draws inspiration from the movements.
The workshop takes place between 3pm and 5pm, followed by a presentation at 7pm.
Booking is essential for both events on 01865 813800. Charges for the workshop are £15 with £10 concessions.
Entrance to the presentation is £5 with £4 concessions.
