BEING a regular on Sky 1’s Pineapple Dance Studios and a busy musician, you might think that I’m used to being consistently on the go. But taking part in the Virgin London Triathlon on July 30-31 for children’s charity WellChild will certainly be an experience like I’ve never had before.

I’m proud to be one of the ambassadors for this national charity and jumped at the chance when they asked me to front a team of competitors taking on the Triathlon to raise money.

WellChild helps sick children and their families throughout the UK as they deal with the consequences of serious illness and complex conditions by focusing on three key areas – care, support and research.

The charity provides a team of WellChild Children’s Nurses who work with families to ensure that children with complex care needs can leave hospital and return home.

And, through its Helping Hands scheme, WellChild enlists the support of volunteers to tackle practical projects in the homes of sick children.

They have also invested more than £20m in groundbreaking children’s health research projects.

On behalf of WellChild, one of the official charities of the event, I urge readers to join me and the team in signing up and taking part in this challenge.

Not only will participants be actively helping a very worthwhile charity, but they’ll also receive the team newsletters, a welcome pack, running vest, post-race massage and refreshments, as well as support throughout training and on the day itself.

Anyone over the age of 18 can take part in the Triathlon, which has varying distances in swimming, cycling and running You can even take part as a team with work colleagues, friends or family – to get everyone involved and train together.

Log on to wellchild.org.uk/ events and sign up now. We can dance our way to the finish line together.

Those who would like to show their support from the comfort of the sidelines can sponsor me at justgiving.com/Andrew-Stone-for-wellchild and help me make a difference to WellChild and their work.
