Sir – I have read the letter from John Sanders (July 2) concerning the introduction of joint ticketing on buses.

The proof of this (very expensive) pudding will be revealed in due course.

He says that the “wait for ages then two or three come at once” problem will happen less often. Does this mean that the current waiting time of approximately 30 minutes for an ‘every 10 minutes’ bus will now remain, or be extended to 60 minutes? And will these fewer buses be so full that it is difficult to get on them and near impossible to get off at the right stop?

It might be useful if those who run bus services for passengers were to ask bus users what services they need, and provide them, rather than presenting every change in service as a bonus for which we, the users, are expected to be pathetically grateful.
